Here it is called a trot ine when you use floats on the line. It is usually tied to a stationary object and left over night such as Dave did. The difference is that you would put several hooks on a single line spaced 2 -3 feet apart. This can be a very effective way to harvest a large number of fish for sale trade or barter.
